Megapithecus (Alpha)
Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~3 days and 20 hours (1x rate), progressing at a glacially slow pace - plan for a multi-day commitment. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.
Each baby inherits stats from both parents with a chance of mutation - +2 wild levels to a random stat plus a color change. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The raising calculator above shows exactly how much food you need for each maturation phase of the Megapithecus (Alpha). Budget ~556 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.
Raising multiple Megapithecus (Alpha) simultaneously? Set the dino count and the calculator scales food requirements automatically. Different food types have different spoil timers - factor that into which food you stockpile.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
Raising a baby Megapithecus (Alpha) involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~556 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~37h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~46h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Megapithecus (Alpha) gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.
The Megapithecus (Alpha) is a boss creature in ARK: Survival Ascended that must be fought in a dedicated arena. It belongs to the Boss category.
With 224,000 base Health, the Megapithecus (Alpha) is extraordinarily tanky. Melee starts at 100% - respectable melee power that scales with level-ups. Stamina sits at 650 base, providing outstanding staying power. A base Weight of 4000 means excellent carrying capacity.
Once tamed, the Megapithecus (Alpha) guards its arena fiercely - come prepared with your best creatures and gear. Defeating one in the wild grants 3000 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0 Element plus 0 Element per level.
