Misc · 20 maps

Overview

Meganeura is a small flying insectivore classified as a Misc creature. It cannot be tamed by survivors. Despite its size, it plays a role in the ecosystem as a common flyer that damages structures. It can be carried by aerial creatures such as Quetzal or Phoenix for transport across maps.

The Meganeura is primarily encountered in large swarms and is known for its vulnerability to many damage types, making it easy to eliminate when necessary. It does not serve a utility role for players beyond its presence as environmental fauna.

Drops & Harvest Resources

Killing a Meganeura yields Chitin, Raw Meat, and Cementing Paste. The Dino (Omnivore) harvest tool provides the most Chitin, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat yield. A Chitin Weapon is best for gathering Cementing Paste.

Damage Resistances

Meganeura has a severe weakness to Melee, Torpor, Poison, and Chitin Paste damage, taking +600% more damage from these sources. This makes tools like the Club or envenomed weapons extremely effective. It also takes +120% more damage from instant-damage sources and +55% more from Metal Melee or raid damage. Conversely, it is highly resistant to Mining Drill and Harvest-type damage, taking -100% damage, making those tools useless.
