Soaker
The Megachelon is a large omnivore with a unique passive taming mechanic. It functions as a Soaker, reducing the weight of gathered resources in its inventory. This dino is primarily tamed to optimize resource transport efficiency in aquatic environments.
It can be airlifted by Quetzal or Karkinos for fast deployment.
Megachelon does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.
Taming the Megachelon requires a special passive method. First, locate a group of small fish and guide them toward the Megachelon while swimming alongside it. The taming process begins automatically when the fish swarm is near the creature.
No narcotics or knockout tools are needed. Use the calculator below for your settings.
To tame the Megachelon, employ a passive approach. First, locate a cluster of small fish. Then, guide them towards a Megachelon. As you swim alongside the turtle with the fish swarm, the taming process will commence.
Killing a Megachelon yields Hide, Raw Meat, Raw Prime Meat, and Shell Fragment. The Hatchet provides the most Hide and Shell Fragment, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat. For Raw Prime Meat, use a dino with Prime harvesting capabilities.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
While ridden, the Megachelon gathers using its Bite attack. It excels at harvesting Chitin, Fiber, Rare Mushroom, and Sand, each at a 6× multiplier. Other resources like Mejoberry, Narcoberry, Cactus Sap, Clay, and Rare Flower are gathered at a 5× rate.
The Megachelon has a +120% weakness to Instant HurtDinos, meaning it takes significantly more damage from sources like spike walls. It also has a +55% weakness to Melee DmgMetal RaidDino attacks and a +50% weakness to Explosions. Avoid direct melee engagements with metal weapons or explosive traps when fighting this creature.
