The Lystrosaurus is a small herbivore used for gathering and support. It passively tames by feeding and reduces the weight of gathered resources in its inventory. This makes it ideal for farming rare flowers and berries in dangerous areas without needing knockout.
It can be airlifted by Argentavis, Desmodus, Griffin, Karkinos, Megalosaurus, Tropeognathus, Kaprosuchus, Procoptodon, Pteranodon, Quetzal, Tapejara, or Tusoteuthis for fast deployment.
Lystrosaurus spawns commonly across 22 ARK maps. It appears in beach, chalk hills, city, desert, forest, jungle, mountain, oasis, and snow biomes. Look for it near green zones on the spawn map for highest density.

Lystrosaurus is tamed passively by feeding it. The best food is Rare Flower, which provides the fastest taming. Mejoberry also works well due to its high affinity.
It takes about 2 minutes to tame using Rare Flower. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing a Lystrosaurus yields Hide and Raw Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick favours Raw Meat.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
While ridden, Lystrosaurus gathers using its melee attack. It excels at harvesting berries, seeds, wood, and rare resources. It gathers 10× Mejoberry, Narcoberry, Stimberry, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, and Wood.
It also gathers 8× Cactus Sap and Fiber. This makes it a top-tier berry and seed farmer.
Lystrosaurus has a +120% weakness to Instant HurtDinos, making it extremely vulnerable to explosive damage. It resists SpikeWall damage by 50%, making spike walls less effective. Explosion damage is reduced by 40%. Melee attacks with metal weapons deal 55% more damage to it.
