Each hit on a node generates resource drops. The game randomly picks a resource from the loot table for each drop. Higher melee depletes the node faster, which can reduce total drops. The "best" melee is where you get the most drops.

Each hit on a corpse generates resource drops based on damage dealt. The game randomly picks a resource from the corpse's loot table for each drop. Higher melee depletes the corpse faster, which can reduce total drops. All dinos get the same resource distribution from a given corpse - the difference is total drops from base damage.

The Lymantria, a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a common sight across multiple maps. It belongs to the Flyer category.

With 260 base Health, the Lymantria is on the squishy side. Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Lymantria brings respectable melee power to the table. With 150 base Stamina, the Lymantria has average stamina. A base Weight of 175 means modest carrying capacity.

Taming the Lymantria requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. Feed it Regular Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.

Once tamed, the Lymantria is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 35°C and 38°C. Defeating one in the wild grants 3 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.15 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
