After hatching or birth, the baby Ichthyosaurus matures over a lengthy period, reaching adulthood in about 2 days and 9 hours at 1x maturation. The most labor-intensive part is the baby phase (0–10% maturation) when it can't use a Feeding Trough yet.
Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
The Ichthyosaurus's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~347 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~23h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~29h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Ichthyosaurus gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. Keep various kibble types on hand, as imprint requests are randomized between cuddles, walks, and kibble feeding.

Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising Ichthyosaurus babies through all three growth stages. The Baby phase (0–10%) takes ~347 minutes and is the most hands-on, requiring direct feeding or a Maewing.
The multiplier feature helps plan large-scale Ichthyosaurus raises by totaling food across all babies. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
Found throughout the ARKs, the Ichthyosaurus is a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the Water classification.
With 100% base Melee Damage, the Ichthyosaurus has solid damage output. With 275 base Health, the Ichthyosaurus is not particularly tanky. Its base Stamina of 300 gives it average stamina. Weight capacity starts at 250, giving it good carrying capacity.
Taming the Ichthyosaurus doesn't require unconsciousness. Instead, sneak up to it and hand-feed its preferred food. Its preferred food is Simple Kibble.
After taming, the Ichthyosaurus is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. A wild Ichthyosaurus is worth 4 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.66 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
