Ichthyornis
The Ichthyornis is a knockout tame - render it unconscious with torpor weapons like Tranq Arrows or Shocking Tranq Darts, then feed it while it's down. The Ichthyornis loses Torpor at 0.1 per second while unconscious - stay on top of narcotics.

Check the taming results to see how long it takes to tame the Ichthyornis, what effectiveness you'll achieve, and how many bonus levels it gains. Better food means better results.
Below are the narcotic requirements for keeping the Ichthyornis sedated throughout taming. Bio Toxin is twice as potent as Narcotics (80 vs 40 Torpor per use), while Narcoberries work in a pinch at just 7.5 Torpor each. With Torpor draining at 0.1/s, don't wait until the bar is nearly empty to apply narcotics.
Use the torpor and starve timers to track your Ichthyornis tame in real time. Starve taming is recommended for valuable high-level Ichthyornis: let the Food stat deplete first, then add food. This way nothing is wasted if something goes wrong.
Take a look at this short video guide on how to tame a Ichthyornis.
Estimated time until optimal feeding point: 42m 38s
Food to consume through starvation: 852
Target food level: 2648
The table below shows how many hits from each torpor weapon are needed to knock out the Ichthyornis at different levels. Wait between shots for torpor to tick up. Firing too fast can kill the creature before it goes down.
To simplify the knockout, immobilize the Ichthyornis first with Bola or Bear Trap.

The Ichthyornis is a knockout tame: apply enough torpor to knock it out, then place food in its inventory. Feed it Regular Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
Once tamed, the Ichthyornis is commonly used for scouting and quick travel between locations. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 29°C–32°C temperature window. A wild Ichthyornis is worth 3 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.3 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
