Overview
The Helicoprion is a water-dwelling carnivore known for its unique weight-reduction abilities. It reduces the weight of several key resources by -50%, including Metal, Stone, and Crystal. This makes it highly effective for underwater resource transport and deep-sea base hauling operations.
It can carry smaller mounts such as Ankylosaurus or Castoroides in its claws.
Spawn Locations
18 mapsHelicoprion spawns in cave, deep-ocean, and ocean biomes. It is very rare and appears across 18 ARK maps. Look for it in underwater cavern systems and open abyssal zones where few other creatures venture.

Gathering Abilities
While ridden, Helicoprion gathers resources using its BuckFeedResponse attack within a 5m range. It harvests berries, fiber, mushrooms, rare flowers, sap, seeds, and wood. Each resource is gathered at a 10× multiplier, except Cactus Sap and Fiber which yield 8×. This makes it exceptionally efficient for rapid plant-based resource farming.
Weight Reduction
Reduces inventory weight by -50% for Metal, Stone, Crystal, Polymer, Obsidian, Black Pearl, Metal Ingot, Ammonite Bile, Raw Fish Meat, Silica Pearls, Raw Prime Fish Meat, Tusoteuthis Tentacle, and Alpha Tusoteuthis Eye. Pair with a flying carrier to maintain mobility while hauling.
Damage Resistances
Helicoprion has a strong vulnerability to spike walls, taking +400% more damage. It also takes +120% more damage from instant-damage sources. Conversely, it is fully immune to Mining Drill Harvest damage. Avoid spike-wall defenses when attacking with this creature.
