Helicoprion Egg & Breeding Calculator

The Helicoprion reproduces by laying fertilized eggs after mating. Incubation temperature must stay between -75°C and 75°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 4 hours and 59 minutes.

The baby Helicoprion takes approximately 4 days and 6 hours to fully mature at default rates - at a glacially slow pace - plan for a multi-day commitment. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.

Mutations can add +2 levels to any stat and change colors. Stacking mutations across generations is the key to min-maxed breeding lines. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The hatched dinosaur, now a baby, needs constant attention and food placed directly in its inventory to survive, or a nearby Maewing to take care of its needs.

20:34:34
The dinosaur reaches the juvenile stage, where it can now eat from a feeding trough, reducing the need for direct feeding.
Adolescent

25:43:12
The dinosaur reaches the adolescent stage, becoming more independent and able to follow you while continuing to grow toward full maturity.

The Helicoprion's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~617 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~41h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~51h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted Helicoprion gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.

Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising Helicoprion babies through all three growth stages. Budget ~617 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.

Adjust the dino count to calculate food for multiple Helicoprion babies at once - essential for batch breeding operations. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

ARK: Survival Ascended features the Helicoprion as a tamable, aquatic, carnivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. It belongs to the Water category.

With 500 base Stamina, the Helicoprion has solid stamina reserves. Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it decent hitting power. With 1,300 base Health, the Helicoprion is a proper tank. A base Weight of 500 means an enormous weight pool.

The Helicoprion is passively tamed - approach it carefully and feed it by hand without knocking it out. Its preferred food is Little Ratfish Treats!.

Once tamed, the Helicoprion provides safe and efficient underwater traversal with good utility. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a -75°C–75°C temperature window. Defeating one in the wild grants 8 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.7 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
