Griffin Egg & Breeding Calculator

After a successful mate, the Griffin lays a fertilized egg. Incubation temperature must stay between 12°C and 16°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 2 hours and 56 minutes.

After hatching or birth, the baby Griffin matures at a glacially slow pace - plan for a multi-day commitment, reaching adulthood in about 3 days and 20 hours at 1x maturation. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.

Mutations can add +2 levels to any stat and change colors. Stacking mutations across generations is the key to min-maxed breeding lines. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The hatched dinosaur, now a baby, needs constant attention and food placed directly in its inventory to survive, or a nearby Maewing to take care of its needs.

The dinosaur reaches the juvenile stage, where it can now eat from a feeding trough, reducing the need for direct feeding.

23:08:53
The dinosaur reaches the adolescent stage, becoming more independent and able to follow you while continuing to grow toward full maturity.

Maturation has three phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~556 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~37h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~46h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Don't skip imprinting - each successful imprint boosts the Griffin's stats, and hitting 100% grants a 30% combat bonus when the imprinter rides it. Keep various kibble types on hand, as imprint requests are randomized between cuddles, walks, and kibble feeding.

Planning a mass raise? The Griffin raising calculator breaks down food needs per phase so nothing goes to waste. The Baby phase (0–10%) takes ~556 minutes and is the most hands-on, requiring direct feeding or a Maewing.

Raising multiple Griffin simultaneously? Set the dino count and the calculator scales food requirements automatically. Match your food choice to your play schedule - longer spoil timers mean less babysitting.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

Found throughout the ARKs, the Griffin is a tamable, flying, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Flyer category.

Stamina sits at 225 base, providing moderate endurance. With 100% base Melee Damage, the Griffin has respectable melee power. At 950 base HP, the Griffin is solidly tanky. Weight capacity starts at 280, giving it good carrying capacity.

You'll need to knock the Griffin unconscious before taming it. Tranquilizers are the standard approach. Extraordinary Kibble is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.

As a tame, the Griffin is a versatile flyer useful for scouting, traversal, and light transport. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 12°C and 16°C. Defeating one in the wild grants 3 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.68 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
