Gallimimus is a small, herbivorous scout dinosaur known for its speed and agility. It excels at gathering resources while being ridden, making it a popular choice for early-game farming. It can be carried by Tusoteuthis, allowing for aerial transport and mobile base deployment.
Players typically tame Gallimimus to quickly harvest large quantities of berries, fiber, and wood from the environment.
Gallimimus spawns commonly across desert, grassland, oasis, redwood, and snow biomes. It appears on 21 ARK maps, making it widely accessible. Look for them in open areas where vegetation is abundant, as they tend to cluster near resource nodes.

Gallimimus must be knocked out before taming. Use a Chain Bola or trap it with a Bear Trap or Large Bear Trap to immobilize it. Tranq Arrows fired from a Bow or Crossbow are effective for sedation. The best food is Simple Kibble, with Mejoberry as a viable alternative. Taming takes around 19 minutes and requires approximately 86 Narcotics at level 150 on official settings. Killing a Gallimimus yields Hide and Raw Meat. The Hatchet provides the most Hide, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat yield.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
While mounted, Gallimimus gathers using its melee attack, harvesting berries, seeds, mushrooms, rare flowers, rare mushrooms, cactus sap, fiber, and wood. It gathers most resources at a 10× multiplier, including Mejoberry, Narcoberry, Stimberry, and Wood. This makes it exceptionally efficient for early-game resource farming.
Gallimimus has a +120% weakness to Instant HurtDinos, making it extremely vulnerable to certain environmental hazards. It also takes +100% more damage from spike walls. On the other hand, it has a -60% resistance to fire damage, making it highly resilient against flaming attacks. Avoid placing it near spike traps during base defense.

The melee attack gathers Wood at a 10× multiplier, making it one of the fastest early wood farmers.
It harvests Mejoberry, Narcoberry, and Stimberry at 10× efficiency, ideal for kibble and narcotic production.
Gallimimus is highly vulnerable to spike walls, taking double damage—keep it away from such defenses.
It can be carried by Tusoteuthis, enabling aerial transport and mobile harvesting platforms.
