Overview

Ferox is a small herbivore with a unique special passive taming mechanic. It transforms into a large aggressive form when fed Element, then reverts to complete taming progress over cycles. Survive its attacks during transformation to advance taming. It can be airlifted by Argentavis or Karkinos for fast deployment.

Spawn Locations

1 maps

Ferox spawns in snow biomes. It is rare and appears across 1 map. Focus searches in high-altitude snow regions where spawn density is highest.

Taming

Tame Ferox using the Special Passive method. Feed it Element to trigger transformation into a large aggressive form. Survive the encounter until it reverts, then feed Element again to gain taming progress. Higher-level Ferox require more cycles. About 1 Element per cycle. Use the calculator below for your settings.

To tame a Ferox, feed it Element. It will transform into its large form and become aggressive. Survive until it reverts to small form, then feed it Element again. Repeat the cycle — each feeding adds taming progress. Higher-level Ferox require more Element and cycles.

Drops & Harvest Resources

Killing a Ferox yields Hide and Raw Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick favours Raw Meat.

Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.

Damage Resistances

Ferox has a vulnerability to Instant HurtDinos, taking +120% damage. It is weak to Melee DmgMetal RaidDino and Explosion Demolition, taking +55% and +50% more damage respectively. It resists SpikeWall and Explosion damage, taking 50% and 40% less. Focus on exploiting its instant damage weakness.

Ferox Tips & Tricks

Each feeding of Element triggers a transformation cycle that advances taming progress. Survive the large aggressive form until it reverts to continue taming. Higher-level Ferox require more Element and more cycles. It can be carried by Argentavis to maintain mobility during taming.

This page details the Ferox's taming, breeding, harvesting, and combat stats. Use the taming calculator, breeding calculator, and spawn map for precise planning.
