To tame an Elderclaw, kill a wild adult to obtain an Elderclaw Seed from its inventory. Plant the seed in a Large Crop Plot with at least 300% greenhouse effect, irrigation, and fertilizer. As the seedling grows it will periodically request one of six resources: Sap, Giant Bee Honey, Black Pearls, Biotoxin, Ammonite Bile, or Leech Blood. You have 5 minutes to provide each resource or taming effectiveness drops. Once the seedling matures into a baby Elderclaw, raise and imprint it like any other baby creature.
4 base × 15.9 level × 4 × 1.25× wild kill × 1× server
Official servers use non-1× defaults for kill-type multipliers. Adjust these if your server uses custom Game.ini values.
Harvesting a dead Elderclaw yields Wood, Thatch, Fiber, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom. The corpse has 280 harvest health, allowing multiple hits before it's fully depleted.
Different tools yield different quantities - check the table below to pick the right tool for the resource you need. Generally, a Pick favors meat while a Hatchet favors hide and secondary materials.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The Elderclaw's damage profile includes 14 modifiers that alter how much damage it takes from different sources. It resists 7 damage types (up to 100% reduction) and is vulnerable to 6 (up to +120% incoming damage). See the full breakdown in the table below. Values under 100% indicate resistance, above 100% indicate weakness.
