Overview
The Diplodocus is a large herbivore with a passive-tame mechanic. It excels at gathering a wide variety of plant-based resources while being ridden. Its primary use is as a mobile farm for Berries, Seeds, Fiber, and Wood across diverse biomes. It can be airlifted by Tusoteuthis for rapid deployment to remote areas.
Spawn Locations
21 mapsDiplodocus spawns in Chalk Hills, Forest, Grassland, Jungle, and Redwood biomes. It is uncommon and appears across 20 ARK maps. Look for open grasslands and dense forests where vegetation is abundant for the highest spawn density.

Diplodocus is tamed passively by knockout. Use a Chain Bola, Bear Trap, or Large Bear Trap to immobilize it. Feed it Regular Kibble for the fastest taming. Mejoberry is a viable alternative if kibble is unavailable. The process takes about 58 Regular Kibble. Taming lasts approximately 58 minutes with no Narcotics needed. Drops & Harvest Resources
Killing a Diplodocus yields Sauropod Vertebra, Hide, Raw Meat, and Raw Prime Meat. The Hatchet harvests the most Hide, while the Pick yields more Raw Meat and Raw Prime Meat is best gathered with a Dino (Prime).

Gathering Abilities
While ridden, Diplodocus gathers from multiple categories including Berries, Fiber, Mushrooms, Rare Flowers, Sap, Seeds, and Wood. Its melee attack harvests 10× Berries, Crop Seeds, Mejoberry, Mejoberry Seed, Mushroom, Narcoberry, Narcoberry Seed, Plant Species X Seed, Plant Species Y Seed, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, Stimberry, Stimberry Seed, and Wood. It also gathers 8× Cactus Sap and Fiber. This makes it one of the most efficient plant gatherers in the game.
Damage Resistances
Diplodocus takes +400% more damage from spike walls, making them extremely effective for defense. It is highly resistant to fire, taking -60% damage from fire-based attacks. It also takes increased damage from explosives and metal melee attacks. Level Health and Melee Damage to maximize survivability.
