Cosmo Egg & Breeding Calculator

The Cosmo reproduces by laying fertilized eggs after mating. Incubation temperature must stay between 4°C and 12°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes.

Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~3 days and 20 hours (1x rate), progressing over many real-world days, demanding serious time investment. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.

Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The dinosaur reaches the juvenile stage, where it can now eat from a feeding trough, reducing the need for direct feeding.

The dinosaur reaches the adolescent stage, becoming more independent and able to follow you while continuing to grow toward full maturity.

Raising a baby Cosmo involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~556 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~37h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~46h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Cosmo gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.

Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising Cosmo babies through all three growth stages. Budget ~556 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.

Adjust the dino count to calculate food for multiple Cosmo babies at once - essential for batch breeding operations. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

The Cosmo, a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a notable presence across multiple maps. It belongs to the Shoulder Pet category.

Stamina sits at 100 base, providing tires quickly. Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Cosmo brings decent hitting power to the table. With 115 base Health, the Cosmo is extremely fragile. A base Weight of 70 means not built for hauling.

Taming the Cosmo doesn't require unconsciousness. Instead, sneak up to it and hand-feed its preferred food. Its preferred food is Plant Species Z Seed.

After taming, the Cosmo earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 4°C and 12°C. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.05 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
