Taming a Boaratos requires a knockout method. Use a Bow, Crossbow, or Compound Bow with Tranq Arrows to sedate it. Immobilize it first with a Chain Bola, Bear Trap, or Large Bear Trap to prevent escape. The best food is Extraordinary Kibble, which tames it fastest. Raw Mutton also works well if kibble is unavailable. The process takes about 7 minutes and requires approximately 37 Narcotics. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing a Boaratos yields Boaratos Tusk, Hide, Bacon, and Pelt. The Hatchet is the best tool for gathering Hide and Pelt, while the Pick maximizes Bacon yield.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
While ridden, Boaratos uses its Gore attack to gather resources with a 2x multiplier on numerous materials. It gathers double yields of Bio Toxin, Blood Sap, Blue Crystalized Sap, Cactus Sap, Charcoal, Corrupted Wood, Crystal, Electronics, Element Dust, Fungal Wood, Keratin, Medium Animal Feces, Rare Mushroom, Raw Meat, Red Crystalized Sap, and Sap. This makes it highly efficient for targeted resource farming.
Boaratos takes +400% more damage from spike walls, making it highly vulnerable in such defenses. It is completely resistant to fire-based damage sources, including lava, fire structures, and projectile fire. This immunity makes it safe to use in volcanic zones. Level Health and Melee Damage to maximize combat effectiveness.

The head is a critical hit zone, with a 1.5x damage multiplier. Targeting the head during combat or taming reduces the time needed to knock it out.
The Gore attack gathers double resources from a wide range of materials, ideal for efficient farming runs.
It is highly vulnerable to spike walls, taking +400% damage, so avoid placing it in spike-based defenses.
Immobilize it with a Chain Bola or trap before sedating to prevent escape during taming.
It can be carried by Quetzal or Tusoteuthis, enabling fast long-distance transport.
Despite its carnivore diet, it does not require meat-based kibble for taming beyond the standard options.
