Climber · 1 map
The Bloodstalker is a carnivorous climber. It is tamed passively by allowing it to consume Blood Packs while it restrains the survivor. This unique taming method bypasses the need for knockout mechanics. It can be airlifted by Quetzal or Tusoteuthis for fast deployment.
Players tame it primarily for its high damage output and structural destruction capability in combat scenarios.
Bloodstalker spawns are very common in bog biomes. It appears across a single ARK map, with the highest concentration in these swampy regions. Green zones on the spawn map indicate the densest populations.

The Bloodstalker is tamed passively. Carry Blood Packs in your inventory and allow the creature to entrap you, after which it will consume the packs. Blood Packs (Lvl 1-140) are the most effective food. Raw Meat also works but is significantly slower.
It can be immobilized with a Chain Bola, Bear Trap, or Large Bear Trap to prevent movement during taming. About 1641 Blood Packs (Lvl 1-140) are needed. The process takes around 55 minutes with 100% effectiveness and no Narcotics needed. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing a Bloodstalker yields Chitin and Raw Meat. The Dino (Omnivore) tool harvests the most Chitin, while the Pick yields the highest amount of Raw Meat.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The Bloodstalker has a +120% damage vulnerability to Instant HurtDinos, making it exceptionally weak against creatures like the Reaper King. It also takes +100% more damage from spike walls, making these highly effective in defense. Conversely, it is immune to damage from Mining Drill Harvest.
