Instead of laying eggs, the Astral Direwolf carries its young through a gestation period. Gestation takes approximately 4 hours and 12 minutes at default rates.

After hatching or birth, the baby Astral Direwolf matures slowly, reaching adulthood in about 2 days at 1x maturation. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.

Mutations can add +2 levels to any stat and change colors. Stacking mutations across generations is the key to min-maxed breeding lines. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

Raising a baby Astral Direwolf involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~292 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~19h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~24h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Astral Direwolf gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

Found throughout the ARKs, the Astral Direwolf is a carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the Variant classification.

Starting at 6,400 Health, it's extraordinarily tanky. Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Astral Direwolf brings solid damage output to the table. Stamina sits at 300 base, providing decent staying power. Weight capacity starts at 300, giving it generous inventory space.

The Astral Direwolf cannot be tamed and must be dealt with through combat or avoidance. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. Killing a wild Astral Direwolf yields 600 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.58 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
