The Aberrant Equus is a herbivorous variant creature found in the Aberration biome. It reduces the weight of several resources in its inventory, making it highly efficient for transport logistics. This reduction is especially valuable when paired with flyers like Argentavis or Karkinos, allowing faster material movement across the map.
It can be airlifted by Quetzal, Karkinos, Megalosaurus, Tusoteuthis, and Argentavis for rapid deployment.
The Aberrant Equus spawns in cave and fertile-zone biomes across 14 ARK maps. It is very rare, so spawns are infrequent and often require thorough exploration of underground systems. Focus searches in lit cave networks near fertile zones for the best chance of sighting.

Taming the Aberrant Equus is done passively by feeding it while mounted or on foot. The best food is Rockarrot, which grants the fastest taming progress. Base Veggie also works but is significantly slower. No narcotics are needed. About 23 Rockarrot are required. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing an Aberrant Equus yields Hide, Raw Meat, and Pelt. The Hatchet yields the most Hide and Pelt, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
While ridden, the Aberrant Equus gathers from multiple categories including berries, fiber, mushrooms, rare flowers, sap, seeds, and wood. Each attack harvests the same resources at identical rates. It gathers Berries, Crop Seeds, Mejoberry, Mejoberry Seed, Mushroom, Narcoberry, Narcoberry Seed, Plant Species X Seed, Plant Species Y Seed, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, Stimberry, Stimberry Seed, and Wood at 10× efficiency. Cactus Sap and Fiber are gathered at 8× efficiency.
The Aberrant Equus reduces weight by -80% for Clay, Sand, Cactus Sap, and Cementing Paste, and by -50% for Stone and Chitin/Keratin. Pair it with Argentavis or Karkinos to maintain these reductions during flight.
The Aberrant Equus has a strong resistance to fire damage, taking -60% less from fire-based attacks. It is highly vulnerable to Instant HurtDinos and spike walls, taking +120% and +100% more damage respectively. It also takes increased damage from explosive and metal melee attacks.
1 base × 15.9 level × 4 × 1.25× wild kill × 1× server
Official servers use non-1× defaults; the values above already reflect official rates.

The Aberrant Equus has a head hitbox multiplier. Targeting the head deals double damage, making it effective for faster knockouts or kills.

The Aberrant Equus reduces inventory weight for multiple resources, improving carry efficiency.
It gathers high-value seeds like Mejoberry Seed, Narcoberry Seed, Stimberry Seed, and Plant Species X Seed at 10× efficiency.
It can be carried by Argentavis, Karkinos, Megalosaurus, Quetzal, and Tusoteuthis for fast transport.
It takes significantly increased damage from spike walls and instant-damage sources, making those highly effective in defense.
Fire-based weapons are inefficient due to its strong fire resistance.
It gathers Rare Flower and Rare Mushroom at 10× efficiency, ideal for engram farming.
