The Aberrant Diplodocus is a massive herbivore variant found in the Aberration biome. It reduces the weight of resources gathered in its inventory, making it a valuable pack animal for long expeditions. It can be airlifted by Tusoteuthis for fast deployment across difficult terrain.
This dino is primarily tamed for its weight reduction ability, which increases carry efficiency during resource runs.
The Aberrant Diplodocus spawns in cave systems and fertile zones. It is very rare and appears across 14 ARK maps. The green zones on the spawn map indicate highest spawn density.

Taming is done passively by feeding it while it eats. The best food is Regular Kibble, which provides the fastest taming. Mejoberry also works if kibble is unavailable. No narcotics are needed. Use a Chain Bola or trap it with a Bear Trap, Large Bear Trap, or Plant Species Y to keep it immobilized during the process. The tame takes about 6 minutes with 20 kibble at level 224. Killing an Aberrant Diplodocus yields Sauropod Vertebra, Hide, Raw Meat, and Raw Prime Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick favors Raw Meat and Raw Prime Meat.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
While ridden, the Aberrant Diplodocus gathers from a wide range of resource categories including berries, fiber, mushrooms, rare flowers, sap, seeds, and wood. It harvests at 10× efficiency on Mejoberry, Narcoberry, Stimberry, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, and Wood. It also gathers Cactus Sap and Fiber at 8× efficiency.
The Aberrant Diplodocus has a +400% weakness to SpikeWall damage, making spike walls extremely effective in base defenses. It has a -60% resistance to fire damage from ranged sources, reducing incoming fire-based attacks. It is also weak to explosive and metal melee damage. Level Health and Melee Damage.

Numbers reflect base melee at level 1, 100% TE, no imprint. The damage calculator lets you scale by melee %, server multipliers, and pick a specific structure for exact hit counts.
The melee attack reaches 16 meters, allowing safe harvesting from dangerous zones.
It gathers Mejoberry and Mejoberry Seed at 10× efficiency, ideal for kibble farming.
It is highly vulnerable to spike walls, taking massively increased damage—use defensively.
It can be carried by Tusoteuthis, enabling mobile base operations.
Fire-based ranged attacks deal significantly less damage, making it resilient against flame turrets.
