The Aberrant Arthropluera is a carnivorous arthropod variant found in biozones, caves, and element zones. It is passively tamed and excels at carrying heavy inventories due to its weight-reducing capabilities. It can be airlifted by Argentavis, Desmodus, Karkinos, Megalosaurus, Quetzal, or Tusoteuthis for rapid deployment across difficult terrain.
This creature is primarily used to transport large quantities of resources while reducing their weight burden, making it ideal for long-distance hauling operations in hazardous areas.
The Aberrant Arthropluera spawns in biozones, caves, and element zones across 13 ARK maps. It is considered uncommon, so players may need to explore multiple zones or use spawn map indicators to locate one efficiently.

Taming the Aberrant Arthropluera is done passively by feeding it. The best food is Broth of Enlightenment, which provides the highest affinity. Spoiled Meat also works, though it is significantly slower.
Taming takes about 1 minute using Broth of Enlightenment at level 150 on official settings. Use the calculator below for your settings.
| Food | Qty | Time | Effectiveness |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0 | 74 Lvl (224) | |
| 12 | 5:30 | 73 Lvl (223) | |
| 75 | 37:00 | 37 Lvl (187) | |

Killing an Aberrant Arthropluera yields Chitin and Raw Meat. The Dino (Omnivore) harvest tool yields the most Chitin, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat output.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The Aberrant Arthropluera has a critical weakness to explosions, taking +400% more damage. It also takes +200% more damage from instant and projectile attacks. This makes it highly vulnerable to explosive traps and ranged weaponry. Melee attacks with impact effects are half as effective, dealing -50% damage.
