You don't really need a saddle if you have Argentavis, just carry with it and it automatically gather metals.
Interestingly, Ankylo CAN gather more crystal and obsidian than your pick, but only if you manually ride it.

Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Ankylosaur brings solid damage output to the table. With 700 base Health, the Ankylosaur is solidly tanky. Stamina sits at 175 base, providing average stamina. It carries 250 base Weight - good carrying capacity.
Taming the Ankylosaur requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. Feed it Regular Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
Once tamed, the Ankylosaur is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 16°C and 20°C. Killing a wild Ankylosaur yields 6 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.93 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
