Overview

The Zomdodo is a small carnivore with no distinct role. It can be carried by flyers and land creatures for transport across difficult terrain. It is typically tamed for its utility as lightweight cargo or as a stepping stone for taming more complex creatures.

It can be airlifted by Argentavis, Desmodus, or Griffin for rapid deployment. Other carriers include Karkinos, Megalosaurus, and Tropeognathus.

Spawn Locations

Zomdodo does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.

Taming

Zomdodo must be knocked out before taming. Use a Bola or Bear Trap to immobilize it first. Then sedate it with ranged weapons such as Tranq Arrows or Tranq Darts.

Feed it Raw Mutton for the fastest taming. Raw Prime Meat also works but grants less affinity. The process takes around 15 minutes. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Zomdodo is not tamable.

Drops & Harvest Resources

Killing a Zomdodo yields Hide and Raw Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick favors Raw Meat.

Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.

Damage Resistances

Zomdodo has a +120% weakness to Instant HurtDinos, making it highly vulnerable to explosive or fast-acting damage. It resists Mining Drill Harvest by -100%, making drills completely ineffective. Spike Walls and Ranged Turrets deal 50% less damage. Use melee or explosive weapons to exploit its weaknesses.
