The X-Woolly Rhino is a rare herbivore variant found only in snowy biomes. It possesses a slightly increased melee damage multiplier at the cost of reduced health compared to its base form. This creature is primarily used as a mobile platform for harvesting and light combat support. It can be airlifted by Quetzal or Tusoteuthis for rapid transport across difficult terrain.
Due to its biome-specific spawn and stat adjustments, it is typically tamed for specialized expeditions in cold regions where its melee boost provides marginal utility in resource gathering or defense.
The X-Woolly Rhino spawns exclusively in snowy biomes. It is marked as very rare and appears on only one ARK map. Players should focus searches on high-elevation snow zones, where spawn density is highest according to the in-game map.

Tame the X-Woolly Rhino using the knockout method. The best food is Superior Kibble, which provides the fastest taming time and highest effectiveness. If unavailable, Mejoberry can be used but is significantly slower. Use a Bow or Crossbow with Tranq Arrows to sedate it. Immobilize the creature first with a Chain Bola or Bear Trap to prevent escape.
Approximately 14 Superior Kibble and 49 Narcotics are needed. The taming process takes about 42 minutes. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Take a look at this short video guide to taming the X-Woolly Rhino.
Killing an X-Woolly Rhino yields Hide, Raw Meat, Keratin, and Pelt. The Hatchet is the best tool for harvesting Hide, Keratin, and Pelt, while the Pick yields the most Raw Meat.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The X-Woolly Rhino does not function as a gatherer while ridden. Its attacks do not yield resources from structures or flora during mounting. It is not used for farming or resource collection in this capacity.
The X-Woolly Rhino has a +120% damage vulnerability to Instant HurtDinos, making it highly susceptible to explosive damage sources. It also takes +100% more damage from spike walls, which are very effective in defensive setups. Conversely, it has a -60% resistance to fire damage, making flame-based attacks inefficient. Use high-impact melee or explosive weapons to exploit its weaknesses.
