X-Otter Taming Calculator
Kill a fish and drag the corpse up to the Otter, then press the use key while you are still holding it. It takes three species, and Sabertooth Salmon is worth about three and a half times a Piranha, so it is worth the swim. Size scales the value directly, so a bigger corpse counts for proportionally more, while the Otter's own level does not change what one fish gives: a higher level simply needs more of them.

Progress scales straight off the size of the fish you drag over, so a larger corpse is worth proportionally more.
- There is no cooldown between fish, so this goes as fast as you can catch them and drag them over. The only clock is your own.
- Drag the fish corpse up to the Otter rather than putting it in your inventory. It eats what you are carrying.
- Each one is worth the same no matter its level. Higher levels simply need more of them.
Starve & Torpor Timers

Found throughout the ARKs, the X-Otter is a tamable, piscivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the Variant classification.
Health-wise, the X-Otter sits at 39 base, making it extremely fragile. With 105% base Melee Damage, the X-Otter has solid damage output. Stamina sits at 180 base, providing decent staying power. Weight capacity starts at 30, giving it minimal inventory space.
As a tame, the X-Otter earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. Killing a wild X-Otter yields 4 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.84 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
