The X-Dunkleosteus is a rare aquatic carnivore variant from Genesis: Part 1, distinguished by its weight-reducing capabilities. It reduces the inventory weight of multiple resources, making it highly effective for resource hauling. This dino is primarily tamed to transport heavy materials efficiently across oceans. It can be airlifted by Quetzal or Tusoteuthis for rapid deployment.
The variant suffers a -3% HP penalty but gains a +5% Melee boost compared to the base Dunkleosteus.
X-Dunkleosteus spawns exclusively in ocean biomes. It is very rarely encountered, appearing on only one ARK map. Due to its scarcity, players should focus on deep water zones when searching.

Tame the X-Dunkleosteus using knockout methods. Use a Chain Bola or trap it with a Bear Trap or Large Bear Trap to immobilize it. Sedate with Tranq Arrows from a Bow, Crossbow, or Compound Bow, or use a Longneck Rifle with Tranquilizer Darts.
Feed it Superior Kibble for the fastest taming. Raw Mutton also works if kibble is unavailable. The process takes around 40 minutes and requires no Narcotics. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing an X-Dunkleosteus yields Raw Fish Meat, Chitin, and Raw Prime Fish Meat. The Mining Drill provides the highest quantity yield for Raw Fish Meat.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The X-Dunkleosteus does not function as a gatherer while ridden. It has no harvest capabilities through attacks or special abilities.
The X-Dunkleosteus reduces inventory weight by -50% for Oil, Metal, Stone, Crystal, and Black Pearl, and -75% for Obsidian. Pair it with a Quetzal or Tusoteuthis to maintain weight reduction during aerial transport.
The X-Dunkleosteus takes +400% damage from SpikeWall attacks, making spike walls extremely effective for defense. It is highly resistant to Mining Drill Harvest damage, taking -100% damage from it. Melee attacks made with metal weapons deal +55% damage to it, so avoid using such weapons when fighting it.

The X-Dunkleosteus reduces weight for Oil, Metal, Stone, Crystal, Obsidian, and Black Pearl by up to 75%. Carry it with a Quetzal to keep weight reduction active during air transport. It takes +400% damage from spike walls, making it vulnerable in defensive perimeters. Its -100% damage resistance to Mining Drill Harvest means drills are ineffective against it.
