Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~4 days and 19 hours (1x rate), progressing over many real-world days, demanding serious time investment. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.

The VR Karkinos's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~694 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~46h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~58h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the VR Karkinos gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. Keep various kibble types on hand, as imprint requests are randomized between cuddles, walks, and kibble feeding.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

ARK: Survival Ascended features the VR Karkinos as a tamable, carnivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. Classified under the Variant group.

Its base Stamina of 600 gives it massive stamina reserves. Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it decent hitting power. At 1,200 base HP, the VR Karkinos is among the tougher creatures. A base Weight of 800 means excellent carrying capacity.

To tame the VR Karkinos, you need to knock it unconscious using torpor weapons, then feed it while it's down. Exceptional Kibble is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.

After taming, the VR Karkinos has the carrying capacity to serve as a reliable transport mount for heavy loads. It gives live birth after a gestation period, making breeding straightforward. Killing a wild VR Karkinos yields 6 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.5 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
