Required Narcotics

Below are the narcotic requirements for keeping the VR Ferox sedated throughout taming. Narcotics provide 40 Torpor each and are the standard choice. Bio Toxin offers 80 Torpor but is harder to farm. Narcoberries at 7.5 each are a last resort. The VR Ferox bleeds 0.1 Torpor/s, so keep a close eye on the bar and sedate early.

Starve & Torpor Timers

Track the taming process with the timers below - they monitor both Torpor and starvation progress. Torpor monitoring prevents premature wakeups. The starve timer is for the starve-tame method - let Food drop, then load all kibble at once to avoid waste.

ARK: Survival Ascended features the VR Ferox as a tamable, carnivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. Classified under the Variant group.

Health-wise, the VR Ferox sits at 1,100 base, making it solidly tanky. Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it respectable melee power. With 1000 base Stamina, the VR Ferox has massive stamina reserves. A base Weight of 350 means good carrying capacity.

To tame the VR Ferox, you need to knock it unconscious using torpor weapons, then feed it while it's down. Simple Kibble is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.

As a tame, the VR Ferox fills a general-purpose role, adaptable to whatever your tribe currently needs. Defeating one in the wild grants 3 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.23 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
