After a successful mate, the VR Dimorphodon lays a fertilized egg. Incubation temperature must stay between 35°C and 38°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 1 hour and 21 minutes.
Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~1 day and 1 hour (1x rate), progressing over a lengthy period. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.
Each baby inherits stats from both parents with a chance of mutation - +2 wild levels to a random stat plus a color change. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
The VR Dimorphodon's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~150 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~10h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~13h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted VR Dimorphodon gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
The VR Dimorphodon, a tamable, flying, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a common sight across multiple maps. Classified under the Variant group.
With 125 base Health, the VR Dimorphodon is very frail. Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the VR Dimorphodon brings decent hitting power to the table. Its base Stamina of 150 gives it average stamina. Weight capacity starts at 50, giving it not built for hauling.
You'll need to knock the VR Dimorphodon unconscious before taming it. Tranquilizers are the standard approach. For best results, use Raw Mutton - it gives the highest taming efficiency.
Once tamed, the VR Dimorphodon works well as a reconnaissance mount, offering fast travel and a bird's-eye view of the terrain. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 35°C and 38°C. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.28 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
