The Velonasaur reproduces by laying fertilized eggs after mating. Incubation temperature must stay between 28°C and 32°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 1 hour and 8 minutes.
Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~1 day and 22 hours (1x rate), progressing requiring significant patience. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.
Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
Maturation has three phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~278 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~19h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~23h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Don't skip imprinting - each successful imprint boosts the Velonasaur's stats, and hitting 100% grants a 30% combat bonus when the imprinter rides it. Keep various kibble types on hand, as imprint requests are randomized between cuddles, walks, and kibble feeding.

Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising Velonasaur babies through all three growth stages. Budget ~278 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.
Adjust the dino count to calculate food for multiple Velonasaur babies at once - essential for batch breeding operations. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
ARK: Survival Ascended features the Velonasaur as a tamable, carnivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. Classified under the DMG group.
Its base Stamina of 325 gives it moderate endurance. Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it solid damage output. With 440 base Health, the Velonasaur is decently sturdy. Weight capacity starts at 325, giving it good carrying capacity.
To tame the Velonasaur, you need to knock it unconscious using torpor weapons, then feed it while it's down. Feed it Regular Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
After taming, the Velonasaur is primarily used for resource harvesting, excelling at gathering specific materials. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 28°C–32°C temperature window. Killing a wild Velonasaur yields 1 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.32 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
