Variant

Tropical Crystal Wyvern Egg & Breeding Calculator

After a successful mate, the Tropical Crystal Wyvern lays a fertilized egg. Incubation temperature must stay between 75°C and 85°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 4 hours and 59 minutes.

After hatching or birth, the baby Tropical Crystal Wyvern matures at a glacially slow pace - plan for a multi-day commitment, reaching adulthood in about 3 days and 20 hours at 1x maturation. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.

Mutations can add +2 levels to any stat and change colors. Stacking mutations across generations is the key to min-maxed breeding lines. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The hatched dinosaur, now a baby, needs constant attention and food placed directly in its inventory to survive, or a nearby Maewing to take care of its needs.
Juvenile

37:02:13
The dinosaur reaches the juvenile stage, where it can now eat from a feeding trough, reducing the need for direct feeding.
Adolescent

46:17:46
The dinosaur reaches the adolescent stage, becoming more independent and able to follow you while continuing to grow toward full maturity.

Raising a baby Tropical Crystal Wyvern involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~556 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~37h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~46h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Tropical Crystal Wyvern gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.

Planning a mass raise? The Tropical Crystal Wyvern raising calculator breaks down food needs per phase so nothing goes to waste. The Baby phase (0–10%) takes ~556 minutes and is the most hands-on, requiring direct feeding or a Maewing.

Raising multiple Tropical Crystal Wyvern simultaneously? Set the dino count and the calculator scales food requirements automatically. Match your food choice to your play schedule - longer spoil timers mean less babysitting.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

Found throughout the ARKs, the Tropical Crystal Wyvern is a tamable, flying, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the Variant classification.

With 1,295 base Health, the Tropical Crystal Wyvern is extremely durable. With 100% base Melee Damage, the Tropical Crystal Wyvern has solid damage output. Its base Stamina of 325 gives it decent staying power. Weight capacity starts at 300, giving it a solid weight pool.

Taming the Tropical Crystal Wyvern doesn't require unconsciousness. Instead, sneak up to it and hand-feed its preferred food. Its preferred food is Primal Crystal.

After taming, the Tropical Crystal Wyvern is commonly used for scouting and quick travel between locations. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 75°C and 85°C. Killing a wild Tropical Crystal Wyvern yields 15 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.85 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
