Overview

The Trilobite is a small, herbivorous invertebrate commonly found in underwater environments. It is primarily known for its role as a portable source of weight reduction for valuable resources. Due to its small size and passive nature, it is frequently carried by larger flying and aquatic creatures such as Argentavis and Tusoteuthis for efficient transport across vast distances.

Players often collect Trilobites to stack in inventory for their resource-specific weight reductions, making them useful companions during long-distance resource runs or deep-sea expeditions.

Spawn Locations

22 maps

Trilobites spawn in cave, deep-ocean, and ocean biomes across 21 ARK maps. They are classified as very common, meaning they can be reliably found in suitable underwater zones. Look for them near rocky seabeds and submerged caverns where light is low and visibility is limited.

Drops & Harvest Resources

Killing a Trilobite yields Chitin, Silica Pearls, Black Pearl, Oil, and Raw Meat. The Pick is the best tool for maximizing Raw Meat harvest, while no specific tool is superior for gathering the other resources.

Damage Resistances

The Trilobite has a strong vulnerability to melee attacks from small carnivores, taking +3200% more damage from such sources. It is also weak to instant damage effects and metal-based melee weapons. Spike walls and projectiles with impact effects reduce damage taken by 50%, making them less effective for killing it.

Trilobite Tips & Tricks

The Trilobite is highly vulnerable to attacks from small carnivorous dinos, taking extreme bonus damage from them.

It is also susceptible to instant damage effects, making it easy to eliminate if targeted directly.

Melee attacks using metal weapons deal increased damage, making them more effective than standard tools.

Despite its fragility, it resists damage from spike walls and certain projectile impacts by 50%.

It can be carried by flyers such as Quetzal and aquatic predators like Tusoteuthis, enabling safe transport through dangerous zones.

This page details the Trilobite's stats, spawn locations, harvest outputs, and combat properties. For further assistance, refer to the taming calculator, breeding calculator, and spawn map for precise data across all ARK maps.
