Planning a mass raise? The Tek Stegosaurus raising calculator breaks down food needs per phase so nothing goes to waste. Expect ~309 minutes of active care during the Baby phase before it graduates to trough-feeding as a Juvenile.
Adjust the dino count to calculate food for multiple Tek Stegosaurus babies at once - essential for batch breeding operations. Match your food choice to your play schedule - longer spoil timers mean less babysitting.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
The Tek Stegosaurus reproduces by laying fertilized eggs after mating. Incubation temperature must stay between 22°C and 28°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 2 hours and 46 minutes.
The baby Tek Stegosaurus takes approximately 2 days and 3 hours to fully mature at default rates - slowly. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.
Mutations can add +2 levels to any stat and change colors. Stacking mutations across generations is the key to min-maxed breeding lines. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
The Tek Stegosaurus's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~309 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~21h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~26h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Tek Stegosaurus gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. Keep various kibble types on hand, as imprint requests are randomized between cuddles, walks, and kibble feeding.
The Tek Stegosaurus, a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is well-known across multiple maps. It falls within the Variant classification.
Stamina sits at 300 base, providing average stamina. With 100% base Melee Damage, the Tek Stegosaurus has solid damage output. At 650 base HP, the Tek Stegosaurus is impressively tough. It carries 500 base Weight - massive inventory space.
Taming the Tek Stegosaurus requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. For best results, use Regular Kibble - it gives the highest taming efficiency.
As a tame, the Tek Stegosaurus is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 22°C and 28°C. Killing a wild Tek Stegosaurus yields 5 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.29 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
