Overview
The Summer Drakeling is a small flyer tamed as a shoulder pet. It provides a unique passive ability that activates while perched, rewarding players for engaging in survival activities. This creature is primarily used to assist with taming other dinosaurs by increasing taming effectiveness during crafting, resource gathering, and combat.
It can be carried by flyers such as Quetzal or Phoenix for mobile support during expeditions.

18 mapsSummer Drakeling spawns in beach, desert, desert mountain, oasis, and swamp biomes. It is very rare and appears across 18 ARK maps. Look for bright, open zones near water sources or dunes where spawn density is highest.

Taming
Taming a Summer Drakeling uses the special passive method. Light a torch and hold it out; the Drakeling will land on your shoulder. Killing a Summer Drakeling yields Hide and Raw Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat harvest.
