Shadowmane

DMG

Official servers currently have boosted rates! You don't need to change settings in our calculator.

Overview

The Shadowmane is a carnivorous creature with a DMG role. It features a passive taming method that requires stealth and a Filled Fish Basket. This dino excels in combat due to its high damage output and unique teleport ability. It can be airlifted by Quetzal or Tusoteuthis for fast deployment.

Players typically tame Shadowmane for its offensive capabilities and synergy with aerial transport strategies.

Spawn Locations

Shadowmane does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.

Shadowmane is tamed passively. Approach it while it sleeps, ideally wearing a Ghillie Suit or after consuming Cactus Broth for stealth. Offer a Filled Fish Basket containing at least a 0.5x sized fish. The best food is Filled Fish Basket (1.5x Fish), which provides the fastest taming. Filled Fish Basket (1.0x Fish) is a viable alternative.

The process takes around 4 minutes with optimal settings. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.

Damage Resistances

Shadowmane has a +120% weakness to Instant HurtDinos and a +100% weakness to spike walls. These make it highly vulnerable in defensive setups using spike walls. It is also weak to explosions and melee attacks from metal weapons. Avoid placing it in zones with high spike wall density.
