Variant
The R-Carnotaurus reproduces by laying fertilized eggs after mating. Incubation temperature must stay between 26°C and 32°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 1 hour and 39 minutes.
The baby R-Carnotaurus takes approximately 1 day and 22 hours to fully mature at default rates - over a lengthy period. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.
Mutations can add +2 levels to any stat and change colors. Stacking mutations across generations is the key to min-maxed breeding lines. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
Raising a baby R-Carnotaurus involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~278 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~19h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~23h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the R-Carnotaurus gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.

Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising R-Carnotaurus babies through all three growth stages. Budget ~278 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.
Adjust the dino count to calculate food for multiple R-Carnotaurus babies at once - essential for batch breeding operations. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
The R-Carnotaurus is a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the Variant classification.
Melee starts at 105% - decent hitting power that scales with level-ups. With 407 base Health, the R-Carnotaurus is decently sturdy. Its base Stamina of 300 gives it decent staying power. Weight capacity starts at 300, giving it good carrying capacity.
The R-Carnotaurus is a knockout tame: apply enough torpor to knock it out, then place food in its inventory. For best results, use Regular Kibble - it gives the highest taming efficiency.
Once tamed, the R-Carnotaurus earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 26°C–32°C temperature window. A wild R-Carnotaurus is worth 18 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.26 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
