Pelagornis
The Pelagornis is a knockout tame - render it unconscious with torpor weapons like Tranq Arrows or Shocking Tranq Darts, then feed it while it's down. The Pelagornis loses Torpor at 0.1 per second while unconscious - stay on top of narcotics.

Check the taming results to see how long it takes to tame the Pelagornis, what effectiveness you'll achieve, and how many bonus levels it gains. Better food means better results.
Below are the narcotic requirements for keeping the Pelagornis sedated throughout taming. Narcotics provide 40 Torpor each and are the standard choice. Bio Toxin offers 80 Torpor but is harder to farm. Narcoberries at 7.5 each are a last resort. The Pelagornis bleeds 0.1 Torpor/s, so keep a close eye on the bar and sedate early.
Track the taming process with the timers below - they monitor both Torpor and starvation progress. Torpor monitoring prevents premature wakeups. The starve timer is for the starve-tame method - let Food drop, then load all kibble at once to avoid waste.
ARK: Survival Ascended features the Pelagornis as a tamable, flying, piscivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. It falls within the Flyer classification.
At 240 base HP, the Pelagornis is not particularly tanky. Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it respectable melee power. With 180 base Stamina, the Pelagornis has decent staying power. A base Weight of 150 means average weight tolerance.
To tame the Pelagornis, you need to knock it unconscious using torpor weapons, then feed it while it's down. Regular Kibble is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.
As a tame, the Pelagornis is commonly used for scouting and quick travel between locations. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 29°C–32°C temperature window. Killing a wild Pelagornis yields 3 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.43 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.

Use the knockout chart to see exactly how many Tranq Arrows, Darts, or other torpor weapons it takes to down the Pelagornis. Space your shots to let torpor accumulate - rapid firing risks killing it before knockout.
To simplify the knockout, immobilize the Pelagornis first with Bola or Bear Trap.
