Overview
Pachy is a medium-sized herbivore with a unique weight-reduction ability for gathered resources. It excels at harvesting large quantities of Berries, Fiber, and Wood due to its powerful melee attacks. The creature is commonly tamed for efficient resource farming in the early to mid-game. It can be airlifted by Argentavis or Karkinos for fast deployment.
Pachy does not deal significant damage in combat but provides utility through its gathering efficiency and inventory weight reduction.
Spawn Locations
20 mapsPachy spawns across 20 ARK maps, appearing in biomes such as forests, grasslands, jungles, mountains, and snowy regions. It is considered uncommon, meaning players may need to explore multiple zones to locate one. The green zones on the spawn map indicate highest spawn density.

Taming a Pachy requires knocking it out using a ranged weapon or trap. The most effective food is Simple Kibble, which provides the fastest taming time. Mejoberry also works if kibble is unavailable. It can be immobilized using a Bola, Bear Trap, or Plant Species Y.
Use a Bow, Crossbow, or Compound Bow with Tranq Arrows to sedate it safely. The process takes around 10 minutes with Simple Kibble and no Narcotics needed. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Drops & Harvest Resources
Killing a Pachy yields Hide and Raw Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick favours Raw Meat.

Gathering Abilities
While ridden, Pachy harvests resources using its melee attack, gathering high quantities of Berries, Fiber, Wood, and Seeds. It gathers up to 10× yield on Mejoberry, Narcoberry, Stimberry, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, and Wood. It also collects Cactus Sap and Plant Species X and Y Seeds at 8× efficiency. This makes it one of the most efficient berry and seed gatherers in the game.
Damage Resistances
Pachy takes +120% more damage from Instant HurtDinos and +100% from spike walls, making these highly effective against it. It is -60% resistant to fire damage, reducing effectiveness of flaming weapons. It also takes +55% more damage from metal melee attacks and +50% from explosions. Avoid fire-based attacks when fighting it.
