The Neophyte reproduces by laying fertilized eggs after mating. Incubation temperature must stay between 12°C and 16°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 2 hours and 56 minutes.

Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~3 days and 20 hours (1x rate), progressing over an extremely long period, one of the longest in the game. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.

Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

Raising a baby Neophyte involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~556 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~37h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~46h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Don't skip imprinting - each successful imprint boosts the Neophyte's stats, and hitting 100% grants a 30% combat bonus when the imprinter rides it. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

Melee starts at 100% - respectable melee power that scales with level-ups. The Neophyte has 13,500 base Health - one of the toughest creatures in the game. Stamina sits at 225 base, providing decent staying power. Weight capacity starts at 280, giving it a solid weight pool.

The Neophyte cannot be tamed and must be dealt with through combat or avoidance. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 12°C–16°C temperature window. Defeating one in the wild grants 3 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.68 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
