Neophyte

Overview

Neophyte is a large carnivore with a unique role in transport mechanics. It can be carried by larger creatures such as Karkinos, Quetzal, or Tusoteuthis for rapid deployment across the map. This makes it ideal for tactical drops in combat zones or fast relocation during base sieges.

It does not carry other creatures itself. Its primary utility lies in being transported, not in transporting others.

Spawn Locations

Neophyte does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.

Taming

Neophyte cannot be tamed. It is not tamable through any method and does not respond to passive feeding, knockout attempts, or trapping.

Neophyte is not tamable.

Drops & Harvest Resources

Killing a Neophyte yields Neophyte Horns. The corpse also provides Hide and Raw Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat harvest.

Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.

Damage Resistances

Neophyte takes +120% more damage from dino attacks, making it highly vulnerable in combat. It is also weak to metal-based melee attacks and explosions, increasing damage taken by +55% and +50% respectively. It resists mining drills completely, taking -100% damage. Melee attacks from herbivores are -40% effective.

Hitbox Multipliers

The head has a 1.5x damage multiplier, making it the optimal target for efficient kills. All other body zones take standard damage.
