Morellatops is a herbivorous creature with a unique gathering specialization. It excels at harvesting a wide variety of plant-based resources quickly while ridden. This makes it a valuable companion for resource farming in desert and wasteland biomes. It can be airlifted by Quetzal or Tusoteuthis for fast deployment to remote areas.
Morellatops spawns commonly across 15 ARK maps. It inhabits desert, desert mountain, oasis, and wasteland biomes. Look for it in open, arid regions where plant nodes are abundant.

Tame Morellatops using the knockout method. The best food is Simple Kibble, which provides the fastest taming effectiveness. Cactus Sap also works well if kibble is unavailable. Use a Bow with Tranq Arrows or a Longneck Rifle with Tranquilizer Darts to sedate it. Immobilize it first with a Chain Bola or Bear Trap. The taming process takes about 20 minutes and requires no Narcotics. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing a Morellatops yields Hide and Raw Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick favors Raw Meat.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
While ridden, Morellatops gathers from multiple categories including berries, fiber, mushrooms, rare flowers, sap, seeds, and wood. Its attacks yield 10× on resources like Mejoberry, Narcoberry, Stimberry, Rare Flower, and Wood. It also gathers Cactus Sap and Fiber at 8×. This makes it highly efficient for crop and seed farming.
Morellatops has a +120% weakness to Instant HurtDinos, making it extremely vulnerable to certain environmental hazards. It also takes +100% more damage from spike walls. It is highly resistant to fire, taking -60% damage from fire-based attacks. Avoid fire weapons when attacking it, and use spike walls or Instant HurtDinos for maximum effectiveness.
