To tame a Megaraptor, locate its altar and light the surrounding torches to begin the ritual. Defend against waves of enemies while keeping the torches lit. Successfully completing the ritual tames the Megaraptor.
The Megaraptor is a knockout tame - render it unconscious with torpor weapons like Tranq Arrows or Shocking Tranq Darts, then feed it while it's down. Torpor bleeds at 0.6/s, requiring regular sedative application to prevent a premature wakeup.

Use the calculator results to plan your tame - they show the exact time, food quantity, and bonus levels for the Megaraptor based on your settings.
Below are the narcotic requirements for keeping the Megaraptor sedated throughout taming. Narcotics provide 40 Torpor each and are the standard choice. Bio Toxin offers 80 Torpor but is harder to farm. Narcoberries at 7.5 each are a last resort. The Megaraptor bleeds 0.6 Torpor/s, so keep a close eye on the bar and sedate early.
Use the torpor and starve timers to track your Megaraptor tame in real time. Starve taming is recommended for valuable high-level Megaraptor: let the Food stat deplete first, then add food. This way nothing is wasted if something goes wrong.
ARK: Survival Ascended features the Megaraptor as a tamable, carnivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. It belongs to the DMG category.
Its base Stamina of 350 gives it good endurance. Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it respectable melee power. At 350 base HP, the Megaraptor is reasonably durable. A base Weight of 325 means a solid weight pool.
To tame the Megaraptor, you need to knock it unconscious using torpor weapons, then feed it while it's down. Raw Mutton is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.
As a tame, the Megaraptor is primarily used for resource harvesting, excelling at gathering specific materials. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 30°C–34°C temperature window. A wild Megaraptor is worth 18 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.26 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
Estimated time until optimal feeding point: 53m 43s
Food to consume through starvation: 1193
Target food level: 6682
The table below shows how many hits from each torpor weapon are needed to knock out the Megaraptor at different levels. Wait between shots for torpor to tick up. Firing too fast can kill the creature before it goes down.
To simplify the knockout, immobilize the Megaraptor first with Chain Bola or Bear Trap. A Quetzal can also pick it up and drop it into a taming pen for a controlled knockout.
