Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising Maeguana babies through all three growth stages. The Baby phase (0–10%) takes ~278 minutes and is the most hands-on, requiring direct feeding or a Maewing.
The multiplier feature helps plan large-scale Maeguana raises by totaling food across all babies. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
Breeding the Maeguana produces fertilized eggs that require careful temperature control. Incubation temperature must stay between 24°C and 28°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes.
The baby Maeguana takes approximately 1 day and 22 hours to fully mature at default rates - over a lengthy period. The most labor-intensive part is the baby phase (0–10% maturation) when it can't use a Feeding Trough yet.
Each baby inherits stats from both parents with a chance of mutation - +2 wild levels to a random stat plus a color change. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
The Maeguana's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~278 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~19h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~23h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted Maeguana gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.
The Maeguana, a tamable, omnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a notable presence across multiple maps. It falls within the Breeding classification.
Health-wise, the Maeguana sits at 700 base, making it solidly tanky. With 100% base Melee Damage, the Maeguana has decent hitting power. With 450 base Stamina, the Maeguana has solid stamina reserves. Weight capacity starts at 400, giving it good carrying capacity.
You'll need to knock the Maeguana unconscious before taming it. Tranquilizers are the standard approach. Basic Kibble is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.
After taming, the Maeguana is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 24°C and 28°C. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.31 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
