Breeding the Kentrosaurus produces fertilized eggs that require careful temperature control. Incubation temperature must stay between 24°C and 30°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 2 hours and 46 minutes.
After hatching or birth, the baby Kentrosaurus matures slowly, reaching adulthood in about 2 days and 3 hours at 1x maturation. The most labor-intensive part is the baby phase (0–10% maturation) when it can't use a Feeding Trough yet.
Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
Raising a baby Kentrosaurus involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~309 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~21h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~26h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Kentrosaurus gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.

Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising Kentrosaurus babies through all three growth stages. The Baby phase (0–10%) takes ~309 minutes and is the most hands-on, requiring direct feeding or a Maewing.
The multiplier feature helps plan large-scale Kentrosaurus raises by totaling food across all babies. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
The Kentrosaurus is a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the Misc classification.
Melee starts at 100% - solid damage output that scales with level-ups. Starting at 650 Health, it's solidly tanky. With 300 base Stamina, the Kentrosaurus has decent staying power. It carries 500 base Weight - excellent carrying capacity.
The Kentrosaurus is a knockout tame: apply enough torpor to knock it out, then place food in its inventory. Feed it Regular Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
After taming, the Kentrosaurus earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 24°C–30°C temperature window. Killing a wild Kentrosaurus yields 5 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.37 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
