Iguanodon
Survivors looking at Iguanodon in ARK: Survival Ascended will find a land-based herbivore that earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. Tamed via knockout taming (Simple Kibble is the optimal food), this herbivore enters service with 375 base Weight, providing a solid weight pool. It reproduces by laying fertilized eggs that incubate between 24°C and 28°C, with babies maturing over a lengthy period. Survivors lean on it to gather Hide, Raw Meat at much higher rates than hand tools. It earns its place in the stable for survivors looking to graduate from early-game tames.
The Iguanodon spawns on 22 maps, typically found in beaches, grasslands, and river areas. Green cells indicate high spawn density, red means low. Click a cell to see exact spawn chance. If you can't find any, try clearing creatures nearby to free up the population cap.

You can gather Hide, Raw Meat from a Iguanodon corpse. The corpse has 230 harvest health, allowing multiple hits before it's fully depleted.
Different tools yield different quantities - check the table below to pick the right tool for the resource you need. Generally, a Pick favors meat while a Hatchet favors hide and secondary materials.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The Iguanodon has 13 damage type modifiers that affect incoming damage. It shrugs off 7 damage types but is weak to 6, with its worst vulnerability at +120%. Focus damage there for maximum efficiency. See the full breakdown in the table below. Values under 100% indicate resistance, above 100% indicate weakness.
