Griffin
To tame the Griffin, you need to knock it unconscious first. Tranq Arrows, Tranq Darts, and Shocking Tranq Darts all work. The Griffin loses Torpor at 2.13 per second while unconscious - stay on top of narcotics.

Check the taming results to see how long it takes to tame the Griffin, what effectiveness you'll achieve, and how many bonus levels it gains. Better food means better results.
Below are the narcotic requirements for keeping the Griffin sedated throughout taming. Narcotics provide 40 Torpor each and are the standard choice. Bio Toxin offers 80 Torpor but is harder to farm. Narcoberries at 7.5 each are a last resort. The Griffin bleeds 2.13 Torpor/s, so keep a close eye on the bar and sedate early.
Use the torpor and starve timers to track your Griffin tame in real time. Torpor monitoring prevents premature wakeups. The starve timer is for the starve-tame method - let Food drop, then load all kibble at once to avoid waste.
The table below shows how many hits from each torpor weapon are needed to knock out the Griffin at different levels. Always pace your shots. Torpor takes time to apply, and over-shooting can be lethal.
To simplify the knockout, immobilize the Griffin first with Chain Bola or Bear Trap.

Found throughout the ARKs, the Griffin is a tamable, flying, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Flyer category.
Stamina sits at 225 base, providing moderate endurance. With 100% base Melee Damage, the Griffin has respectable melee power. At 950 base HP, the Griffin is solidly tanky. Weight capacity starts at 280, giving it good carrying capacity.
You'll need to knock the Griffin unconscious before taming it. Tranquilizers are the standard approach. Extraordinary Kibble is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.
As a tame, the Griffin is a versatile flyer useful for scouting, traversal, and light transport. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 12°C and 16°C. Defeating one in the wild grants 3 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.68 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
