Breeding produces live offspring - no egg management needed. Gestation takes approximately 8 hours at default rates.

After hatching or birth, the baby Gasbags matures over a lengthy period, reaching adulthood in about 1 day and 22 hours at 1x maturation. The most labor-intensive part is the baby phase (0–10% maturation) when it can't use a Feeding Trough yet.

Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

Raising a baby Gasbags involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~278 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~19h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~23h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Don't skip imprinting - each successful imprint boosts the Gasbags's stats, and hitting 100% grants a 30% combat bonus when the imprinter rides it. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

ARK: Survival Ascended features the Gasbags as a tamable, herbivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. Classified under the Soaker group.

Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it respectable melee power. At 650 base HP, the Gasbags is quite durable. Its base Stamina of 600 gives it outstanding staying power. Weight capacity starts at 3000, giving it an enormous weight pool.

To tame the Gasbags, you need to knock it unconscious using torpor weapons, then feed it while it's down. Feed it Superior Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.

Once tamed, the Gasbags is a practical workhorse - it can both gather and haul resources efficiently. It gives live birth after a gestation period, making breeding straightforward. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.72 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
