Each hit on a node generates resource drops. The game randomly picks a resource from the loot table for each drop. Higher melee depletes the node faster, which can reduce total drops. The "best" melee is where you get the most drops.

Each hit on a corpse generates resource drops based on damage dealt. The game randomly picks a resource from the corpse's loot table for each drop. Higher melee depletes the corpse faster, which can reduce total drops. All dinos get the same resource distribution from a given corpse - the difference is total drops from base damage.

The Featherlight, a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a notable presence across multiple maps. It falls within the Shoulder Pet classification.

Its base Stamina of 100 gives it tires quickly. With 100% base Melee Damage, the Featherlight has solid damage output. Health-wise, the Featherlight sits at 115 base, making it very frail. A base Weight of 70 means not built for hauling.

Taming the Featherlight doesn't require unconsciousness. Instead, sneak up to it and hand-feed its preferred food. Its preferred food is Plant Species Z Seed.

After taming, the Featherlight earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 29°C and 32°C. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.05 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
