Instead of laying eggs, the Dreadmare carries its young through a gestation period. Gestation takes approximately 8 hours at default rates.
The baby Dreadmare takes approximately 4 days and 19 hours to fully mature at default rates - at a glacially slow pace - plan for a multi-day commitment. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.
Mutations can add +2 levels to any stat and change colors. Stacking mutations across generations is the key to min-maxed breeding lines. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
The Dreadmare's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~694 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~46h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~58h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted Dreadmare gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.

Planning a mass raise? The Dreadmare raising calculator breaks down food needs per phase so nothing goes to waste. Expect ~694 minutes of active care during the Baby phase before it graduates to trough-feeding as a Juvenile.
Adjust the dino count to calculate food for multiple Dreadmare babies at once - essential for batch breeding operations. Match your food choice to your play schedule - longer spoil timers mean less babysitting.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
Found throughout the ARKs, the Dreadmare is a tamable, flying, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the Flyer classification.
Its base Stamina of 600 gives it massive stamina reserves. With 100% base Melee Damage, the Dreadmare has decent hitting power. Starting at 1,000 Health, it's impressively tough. It carries 450 base Weight - generous inventory space.
Once tamed, the Dreadmare excels at carrying heavy loads through the air, making base-to-base logistics much faster. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. Killing a wild Dreadmare yields 12 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.94 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
