Diplodocus Egg & Breeding Calculator

Breeding the Diplodocus produces fertilized eggs that require careful temperature control. Incubation temperature must stay between 26°C and 29°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 4 hours and 59 minutes.

After hatching or birth, the baby Diplodocus matures over an extremely long period, one of the longest in the game, reaching adulthood in about 3 days and 20 hours at 1x maturation. The most labor-intensive part is the baby phase (0–10% maturation) when it can't use a Feeding Trough yet.

Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The dinosaur reaches the juvenile stage, where it can now eat from a feeding trough, reducing the need for direct feeding.

23:08:53
The dinosaur reaches the adolescent stage, becoming more independent and able to follow you while continuing to grow toward full maturity.

The Diplodocus's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~556 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~37h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~46h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted Diplodocus gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.

Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising Diplodocus babies through all three growth stages. The Baby phase (0–10%) takes ~556 minutes and is the most hands-on, requiring direct feeding or a Maewing.

The multiplier feature helps plan large-scale Diplodocus raises by totaling food across all babies. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

ARK: Survival Ascended features the Diplodocus as a tamable, herbivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. It falls within the Misc classification.

Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it decent hitting power. The Diplodocus has 1,700 base Health - among the tougher creatures. With 550 base Stamina, the Diplodocus has solid stamina reserves. Weight capacity starts at 800, giving it excellent carrying capacity.

The Diplodocus is passively tamed - approach it carefully and feed it by hand without knocking it out. Its preferred food is Regular Kibble.

Once tamed, the Diplodocus combines solid harvesting capability with generous carrying capacity. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 26°C–29°C temperature window. A wild Diplodocus is worth 6 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.23 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
